Volunteer in 3 Easy Steps
Apply
New volunteers must complete an application form before volunteering. You can do this online (preferred) or on paper when you arrive. (Note: One application per household.)
Schedule
Click the button below and follow the instructions to schedule a volunteer shift. If you don't have internet access, call 717-824-1227 ext 1001. Individual or group scheduling options available.
Check In
Arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift is scheduled to start. Check in at the front desk, clock in, get your nametag, and a coordinator will direct you to your designated tasks.

What You Need to Know About Being a Volunteer
Preparing for Your Shift
- Wear closed toe shoes.
- Secure loose hanging hair.
- Cover any open wounds.
- If you are not feeling well, we kindly ask you to serve another time.
- Call us or cancel online if you are unable to make it to your shift.
- Read through all policies and procedures before your first shift.
- Carpool when possible due to limited parking.
- Please be on time for your shift and serve with joy and excellence.

Age Requirements
Volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
Minimum age requirements vary by shift. All infants are subject to these rules. Click here to download a complete list of age requirements.
All shifts are approx 2 1/2 to 3 hrs.
Scheduling & registration required.
Family-Friendly Shift Policy
We have Family Friendly Shifts several times a week where all ages are welcome. *All children age 5 and older must be added to the schedule if they are coming to a Family Friendly shift.
Parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s behavior and safety while volunteering.
Monday 8:30 AM (Leola only)
Friday 12:30 PM and 6:30 PM (Leola only)
Food Blessings Policy
After your volunteer shift you will receive a voucher for one visit to select food at our Ministry Selection Center. The voucher may be used anytime we’re open within the specified expiration date. If you do not need the voucher, we encourage you to give it to someone in need. There is a minimal handling fee per pound that is expected to be paid on each visit. These products may not be sold or bartered for any reason.
